Balladesque was released in 2000 and was Alun’s first solo CD. It was recorded at Chemical Sound in Toronto and at Alun's own Moldy Floor Studios. (Yup, it’s a home studio... got it’s name from the basement room in Alun’s old apartment. He used to spend hours down there, oblivious to the different kinds of mushrooms and mold that grew up from the carpet every time it rained. Since then, it has relocated twice - once to Alun’s bathroom and finally to his new basement, complete with new computer and recording gear, where the studio now remains fungus-free. He even records other artists in his basement facilities.)

Very special thanks to the artists who guested on this release: Justin Peroff, Michelle Josef, Mike Munro, James Gray. John Francom, Don Kerr, Mark Kesper and Oh Susanna.

And yes, the CD cover is a blatant rip-off of The Replacements 1984 album Let It Be.

The CD is available in stores, online and as a digital album download.

"...It’s basically great pop music, with strong influences from folk/roots... one of the best albums to appear in 2000, without any shadow of a doubt..."
